Caveney & Salmon

Patrick James “PJ” Caveney

Patrick was born in March of 1855 in a town near the Pin Hook post office in Virginia. In the 1860's it became known as Bluefield in Tazwell County just south over the line from the West Virgina border. Patrick's nicknames were documented and he was referred to as "PJ" or "James"
His family moved to Taylor County, WV which in today's drivable distance is three hours north of Bluefield. Patrick spent most of his years in Grafton, West Virginia before moving to Belmont County, Bridgeport, Ohio about 1886 where all of his children except his oldest were born. Patrick appears in a newspaper article noting in December of 1894 being elected President at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church in Bridgeport Ohio for the C.H. and D.A. Mutual Benefit Association.
